About Us

Proposed Goals  of CitizenzNews:

To help young people of all ages, engage with their communities and make a difference. We also want to help young people get ahead by being well informed about the issues of the day. Some people will we hope use CitizenzNews to prepare for their UPSC examinations or future interviews. Our articles help people  get a working understanding of the socio-political situation (especially those aspects that apply to India.) 

To encourage investment and employment in Kerala especially while helping the state to gradually transition off its dependency on Middle Eastern employment. In so doing, to develop an employment model that protects investors and entrepreneurs from the depredations of trade union militancy.  

Initiatives that we can facilitate with our writing; 

1. Develop an alliance of volunteer Mentors, Angel investors, Labour Leaders and Social Workers who can work with established networks like the Indus Entrepreneurial Network as well as develop new associations with research/educational institutions as well as political/ trade union groups.  

2. To publish articles that are good enough to be eventually quoted and even picked up by the mainstream media. This will include; 

    - Publishing news and information to highlight the achievements of educational and research     institutions in India (both public, private and joint venture).
    - Providing a forum for thought leaders to share their ideas at periodic events run in     collaboration with sponsoring organizations and groups such as Chambers of Commerce,     Lions, Rotary etc.
  
3. Facilitate Educational and Cultural Development at the High School and University level through the following educational initiatives:  

    - Offer a language intervention series of four workshops called Spoken Success which is            designed to help young people who have had a vernacular middle school education transition into courses delivered in the English language. 

    - Provide regular essay writing and speaking opportunities at Universities (on the Toastmasters  model). 

    - Set up extra and co-curricular clubs that engage in group discussions and also intervention opportunities about the larger issues  in life that impact the quality of life in India such as Water/ Waste Management, Women's safety and rights etc.
